Camila & Mel’s wedding at the Grange in Surrey was a very eventful wedding this summer starting with bridal prep at their home in Surrey. Only a few weeks before, I’d met up with them for a pre-wedding shoot. Click HERE to take a look. Their wedding day started with lots of visitors, coming and going from their house as they were getting things ready for the wedding. With family from far and wide getting ready there too, it was hectic! After hair and make-up, and some fizz, Camilia who was as calm as anything, finally put on ‘that wedding dress’ – talk about dress envy!

Biblical Rain didn’t stop her grand entrance

It wasn’t long before all the preparations were done and we were off to church for the ceremony which was just down the road. I arrived before the bridal party to get some coverage of the Groom and some of their guests at church, but within 10 minutes of arriving – with the Groom, groomsmen and family all in place, the heavens opened and it poured. Literally. It was Biblical rain, non-stop for over an hour. Needless to say a few kind gents came to Camilia’s rescue and even the rain didn’t stop her grand entrance. A few umbrella’s later, they all managed to make an entrance without getting drenched. Mel’s nerves were beginning to show but Camila with her usual calm approach took it all in her stride. Nothing was going to ruin her day!

Tales of the Groom’s single life adventures…

There were lots of gorgeous little people including their children Elijah and Amira – ring bearer and flower girl respectively, who also made a very grand entrance. After the ceremony we were off to the Grange for their reception. The rain came and went but it didn’t dampen spirits…… you just have to roll with things on a wedding day, whatever happens and thankfully, this lovely pair weren’t phased. We managed to get time in the gardens for a walk about and some photos and then back for dinner and speeches. The room was in uproar so many times that afternoon – Mel’s friends gave him a wonderful send off into married life with tales of his single adventures, not all ending well. And I’m sure he went vert red quite a few times that afternoon. Thankfully, none of the stories were x-rated!

The rest of the evening was one big party. Everyone was on the floor throwing some moves and getting jiggy with it. A fab time had by all….. Camilia & Mel; thanks for having me. It was a ball. Congratulations again to the two of you. I know you have lots of happy days ahead of you xx
