Marylebone Old Town Hall & Darby’s Wedding

Spring Wedding at Marylebone Old Town Hall – Martha & Ben

ELEGANT LONDON TOWN HALL WEDDING & PARTY

There are few places in London as timelessly elegant as Marylebone Old Town Hall. With its sweeping marble interiors, soaring pillars, and those iconic steps framed by grand fluted classicist Columns, it makes the most magnificent backdrop for a wedding. I always love photographing weddings here – the architecture has such presence, yet it’s oak panelled rooms also allow for the intimacy of smaller weddings.

This spring, I had the pleasure of capturing Martha and Ben’s wedding – two days of celebrations filled with romance, laughter, and the perfect blend of tradition and chic modern style!

The Ceremony at Marylebone Old Town Hall

Martha and Ben’s romance blossomed during the challenges of Covid, and before long, and once smitten, they were planning their wedding surrounded by their closest family and friends. Martha looked chic in her exquisite long ivory satin halter-neck dress, the epitome of understated elegance. Ben was every bit the perfect match, both of them with beaming smiles as they walked into their wedding ceremony together in one of the Old Town Hall’s more intimate ceremony rooms, hand in hand. After the short ceremony, guests spilled out onto the wide steps of this iconic Town Hall, showering the newlyweds with confetti – one of those quintessential London wedding moments that never loses its magic. I LOVE a confetti shower!

A Chic Lunch at Clipstone

After a few family group photos, everyone made their way to Clipstone in Fiztrovia – a modern British restaurant with chic interiors. Over champagne and a beautifully curated lunch, the couple celebrated this first chapter of their day with those closest to them. First, lots of fizz in the glorious London spring sunshine, followed by lunch, made it a truly memorable continuation of the morning’s celebrations. With day one drawing to a close, everyone was looking forward to the big party on day 2.

MY HIGHLIGHTS

Here’s a selection of my favourite images from the story of Martha & Ben’s wedding at Marylebone Old Town Hall & Darby’s in London

The Evening Party and Ceilidh at Darby’s

The following day, the festivities moved to Derby’s in Nine Elms for a champagne reception followed by heartfelt speeches and a very lively ceilidh for 200 guests – how they managed to fit them all I’ll never know! But it was a very joyful night, and a nod to Martha’s university days in Scotland. The dance floor filled quickly as the band got going, and friends and family danced with endless energy as things stepped up a gear.

A Stylish Relaxed Day to Remember

From the grandeur of Marylebone Old Town Hall, to the chic intimacy of Clipstone, and finally the buzzing energy of Derby’s, Martha and Ben’s wedding was the perfect reflection of their story – elegant, heartfelt, and full of joy. Everything was understated but so stylish If you’re getting married in the Town Hall, and looking for a photographer, contact me for more info and we can chat through how I’d cover your wedding celebrations for you.
