Last week I whisked myself off to Wiltshire to shoot the lovely Lauren & Ed’s winter wedding in St. Mary’s Church in Cricklade, in the heart of Wiltshire and then onto the stunning Lains Barn a beautiful rural wedding venue in Oxfordshire a short drive from Cricklade. Thankfully, it was a lovely crisp winter blue sky day, a perfect day for a winter wedding and a big family gathering.

The gorgeously elegant Lauren & stylish Ed got married at St Mary’s in Cricklade surrounded by a terrific group of friends and family and a huge Scottish contingent who arrived by coach, from Lauren’s side, before being whisked off to the stunning Lains Barn for their wedding celebrations and evening party.  Shooting winter weddings in the UK is always challenging because of the dark early nights, low light and often dark but atmospheric wedding venues. But with experience, and the right equipment – good professional cameras that can handle low light as well as fast prime lenses that come into their own in the dark winter months, I can easily shoot weddings in many different lighting scenarios. One of the beauties of being a wedding photographer, is working in so many different places week in and week out and handling the different challenges each and every church and wedding venue presents. I love it!

Lauren & Ed’s wedding was no different – starting in a small dark church and then a dark barn for their reception. But boy was it atmospheric and beautifully decorated!! Loved every minute of the day and feeling really blessed to have such fabulous clients. Here are a few images to give you a taster of the day – the full post will follow in January.
