Lindsay & Andy’s winter wedding had been in the planning for over a year. They’d wanted a wedding in two halvesĀ – the first, the wedding service itself and day time celebrations, and the second, a wonderful big party celebrating not only their nuptials but New Year as well! If you missed part one of this post featuring the day time celebrations click here to take a look. When I met Lindsay and Andy, I quickly realised that they were big party people – they loved being theĀ hosts and throwing celebrations and parties for friends and family. They were also big clubbers back in the day and wanted the party of all parties for their wedding, in fact it was all about the party. So they chose New Year’s Eve to throw a lavish Winter Marquee wedding in KentĀ and were lucky enough to have event planner Tina of Tijeanne Consulting organising the entire day for them.
Following the wedding service and long, relaxed celebratory lunch, the evening events started with reception drinks and canapƩs in a marquee decorated and designed just for them. All decorated in a stunning theme of elegant winter white and midnight blue, it featured a star-lit dance floor, a huge bar as the centre-piece, curved white leather sofas (from X-factor no less), stunning winter bouquets decorating the tables with winter lanterns and candles, white trees covered in fairy lights, a white wedding taxi photo-booth, a good old fashioned sweet table for the little people and a vodka luge for the big ones!!
After welcoming drinks they headed off to the dance floor forĀ a few speeches from Lindsay’s Dad and Andy’s best man and a few impromptu ad-libs from their cheeky son Harry, and then the cheese cake cutting. After the first dance which was such a sweet family thing….. the party really started! Drinks were flowing from the bar and the vodka luge kept revellers joyfully merry all night. For those quieter types, there was comfy seating to rest and catch up with friends, and the taxi photo-booth didn’t stop all night. Ā The DJ was amazing. Not often I say that but he kept the place rocking till about 1am. There was dancing, more dancing and even dadĀ dancing and I had a fab time capturing it all. It felt like we were in a very exclusive club that kept rolling out theĀ right tunes! At midnight, we all counted in the new year and the place was in uproar celebrating the arrival of 2015 with kisses and hugs all around.
Not all winter weddings are the same. This one was THEĀ party to remember. Exactly what they’d wishedĀ for – and there’s no doubt that Lindsay & Andy’sĀ wedding day celebrations will be remembered for many years to come. It was a very, very long day but I enjoyed covering every minute of it. Thanks again to Lindsay & Andy’s lovely families for all their kindness and hospitality, and huge congratulations again to you bothĀ and your gorgeous kids. Thanks for choosing me to cover your big day. You guys are legends! Here are some images from the day!
