Charlotte & James fell in love with the St Pancras Renaissance hotel each time they visited from Yorkshire on weekends away to London, so this incredible hotel was a natural choice for their small summer wedding last August. They’d opted for a small, more intimate family wedding in London, wanting to do it in style but without the fuss. Charlotte was pottering around with her bridesmaids when I arrived that morning (snap chat and Prosecco come to mind!). Hair & make up and gifts to the bridesmaids done, Charlotte got dressed just before her lovely Granddad arrived as he was walking Charlotte down the aisle. You can see his reaction in the photos!
Relaxed documentary photography – it’s all about the moments
James was in the bar greeting guests before the ceremony and having his nerves calmed by his dad and best man. Then they all headed up to the Exchange where the ceremony was being held. I’ve shot a few weddings at this stunning hotel before, all in the Ladies Powder Room a stunning room more suited to bigger weddings. The Exchange was a much smaller, intimate space and perfect for their wedding. With everyone in place, Charlotte made her entrance with Granddad who proudly walked her in and the ceremony began. It felt like two gorgeous friends were getting married that day, they were so pleased to be together, taking this next big step together! And then they were married!
Dinner in the Exchange
Champagne awaited them all next door, with a few group photos on the stunning grand staircase and short break to powder noses before dinner, which was back in the Exchange which had been laid out beautifully. The attention to detail and service from the St Pancras Renaissance staff is always impeccable – some venues just get it so right! A relaxed dinner got underway with lots of chatter and laughter coming from the room. Speeches up next and James was looking increasingly embarrassed at what his best man had to say, but all in good humour! All their wedding guests were then invited to go down to the Booking Office bar for more champagne so the wedding party re-convened down there. They were such an amiable and lovely crowd, it really didn’t feel like I was working but that’s what I love about this job. Each and every wedding is so different and no day is ever the same! Charlotte & James – Congratulations again to you both. Do get in touch if you’re planning a wedding at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and are looking for a relaxed documentary wedding photographer who is all about the moments – I’d love to hear from you.
Lovely work Mona. Love the one’s with Dad.
