Shen & Eva’s Big Brighton Engagement shoot

Shen & Eva’s Big Brighton Engagement shoot – the gals were really keen to do their engagement shoot in Brighton – they both LOVE Brighton (who doesn’t) and as it had been ages since they’d visited they decided to make a weekend of it. I shoot a lot of weddings in Brighton and have done quite a few engagement pre-wedding shoots along the seafront, but I’d really wanted to explore some of Brighton’s back streets to feature some of the amazing art work and graffiti. So we headed off to the lanes to start the afternoon off. I’ve known Shen for 5 or 6 years since doing a photography city and guilds together… Shen’s a massively talented music photographer (Shakey Face Photography) but a bit of a shy gal when it comes to being the other side of the camera. Eva was equally shy, but thankfully they were both really keen to do a pre-wed shoot and were happy to put their trust in me.

And it’s always a welcome challenge having to photograph camera shy peeps, but to be honest, when people really love each other and aren’t afraid to show it, it makes my job that much easier and enjoyable. I always advise my couples to be yourself, to play, laugh and get silly….. being photographed isn’t something to take so seriously! So we had loads of fun exploring Brighton, wandering along the lanes, stopping for coffee and eventually making our way to the seafront and pier. It was a gorgeous summer’s afternoon and I really wanted to feature the doughnut sculpture which I photographed 5 years ago for one of my C&G portfolio’s and so that makes an appearance. The day was glorious and the light was gorgeous – as it usually is in this part of the world… and as for these two lovebirds, I really enjoyed my day out with them – check out their little jigsaw puzzles and tattoos – the right pieces in the right place – together. Love these two gals and can’t wait for their wedding.

Fancy a Brighton shoot.. you know what to do! Enjoy x
