I did Jess & Dom’s Surrey pre-wedding shoot in late August prior to their September wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond. It really was the perfect day with unbelievably lovely late summer sunshine and a warm august breeze. We decided to meet at Pembroke Lodge as it turned out to be the most convenient location for us both – though I’m always open to suggestions as to suitable locations for these types of shoots. Both Jess & Dom were quite camera shy and were keen to walk the venue and chat about their plans before we started. Its very rare to find a couple who totally love being photographed. More often than not, one or both are quite camera shy or camera aware and feel anxious about what to do or how to behave.
These sessions really help smooth away the worries as there’s no pressure to do anything but be yourselves. We’re constantly inundated with perfectly retouched photos of amazing looking perfect ‘media’ couples who love to perform in front of the camera and that’s a million miles away from my style of photography. I strive for relaxed, natural and authentic images where couples can relax and trust me to capture them being themselves and having a bit of fun. Here are a few from Jess & Dom’s pre-wedding shoot. I’ll be blogging their wedding next week.
