I was booked a just a few weeks before Ruth & Jason’s last minute Islington Town Hall Wedding last month and as it happens, it turned out to be a very big year for them with a big ‘0’ birthday, booming business expansion, a proposal AND a wedding to arrange, all very short distances from each other. They were keeping their wedding very low key and personal and it’s always a lovely change to do something different from the often very big wedding day celebrations I cover, with just a handful of family and friends to witness their marriage en route.
With very informal celebrations planned for after the wedding, we decided to make time for some couples portraits before their short ceremony and met minutes after the town hall had opened for the day so we literally had the run of the place with no one there at all, until their guests slowly started arriving. I loved their simple, relaxed casual chic…. and those sparkly flip flops! Ruth & Jason’s wedding ceremony was in the lovely intimate Mayor’s Parlour and started with the register calling Jason ‘John’. Some curious looks around and at each other, much laugher and then onto the vows. And then they were married!
Lots of hugs and happy smiles later, we headed outside for some family photos with this very close and loving family…..and then they were off to celebrate. Thanks for choosing me Ruth and Jason – it was a total blast! If you’re looking for a London wedding photographer, you can get in touch with me here.
If anyone is looking for a photographer in London, don’t hesitate to book Mona. She was a joy on the day: putting everyone at their ease and the final product of her efforts captured Ruth and Jason’s wedding perfectly. Thanks Mona!
Thanks Alan – very kind of you to say and lovely to meet you all. Mona 🙂
