Islington Town Hall Wedding Photographer

Verity & Hugo’s small and intimate wedding ceremony took place last month in the Mayor’s Parlour at Islington Town Hall. This town hall is one of London’s busiest wedding venues and there are always a dozen weddings going on every Saturday in the summer!

Some pre-wedding photos in Highbury Fields

It was a beautiful autumn day with lots of late summer sun as I arrived in bustling warm Islington. We’d arranged to meet at the nearby Highbury Fields to take some pre-ceremony photos of the two of them together, before heading up to the town hall for their ceremony. It really was a small wedding party with just a few family members and friends present – by far the smallest wedding I’ve photographed, and it made a lovely change to the usual big 100-plus weddings I typically shoot.

A small, intimate ceremony in the Mayor’s Parlour

Hugo and Verity were such a sweet couple and it was clear the wedding was a very special moment for them both. After a few shots in the park, we jumped in their wedding taxi and whizzed up the road to Islington Town Hall for their ceremony. With such a small wedding, I felt very much like a witness as well as photographer, and caught some lovely touching moments throughout. Most bigger weddings take place in the main round council chamber, but this lovely old room suited Verity & Hugo’s wedding perfectly.

After a few portraits inside and a few group photographs, they went on their way to celebrate their wedding with a celebratory lunch together. Congratulations again to you both and thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. If you’re looking for an Islington Town Hall Wedding Photographer or are planning your wedding in another London Town Hall or other city venue in the near future, whether your wedding is small and intimate or a huge big fat celebration – I’d be very happy to provide coverage if I’m available. You can contact me HERE. Here are a few shots from Verity & Hugo’s Wedding morning  – I hope you enjoy them!
