Christ Church Spitalfields Wedding – It’s been a busy summer as a London Wedding Photographer so I’m still catching up with some belated blogging! This is part two of a much earlier post from Jessica & Anthony’s fab wedding that started with their ceremony in Bethnal Green Town Hall Hotel earlier this spring – here’s my first post if you missed it.
The wedding reception was held at the truly amazing Christ Church Spitalfields, a magnificently restored Grade 1 listed Baroque church, which provided a stunningly atmospheric backdrop for their wedding. Its still a functioning church, but doubles up as a wedding & event venue too. It was a great crowd and Jess & Anthony’s families and guests were very welcoming, making the day relaxed and enjoyable. There was such an incredibly emotional atmosphere during the speeches and even Jess got up to do her bit. I love it when weddings don’t always follow ‘tradition’ and couples really personalise their day of celebrations.
As I’d mentioned in my earlier post, Jess & Anthony wanted to feature elements from the east end to celebrate their love of this part of London so all the suppliers were local. From the completely memorable Ghanaian food prepared by their caterers Jollof Pot, to the locally made scotch eggs and other delights for their evening buffet, everything came from the east end. Their DJs were Wedding Smashers and Jess’s very talented brother Jonny made the brownie ‘mountain’ as well as all the other cakes!! A great day. Here are some more of my faves – enjoy!!
