Sarah & Alex’s Brighton Royal Pavilion Wedding took place in mid June on a Thursday evening. Now anyone who knows the Pavilion knows what an utterly stunning venue it is and I have to say, its been my favourite venue to shoot at this summer. I love seeing guests reactions when they first see it! Added to that, the staff there are just amazing – friendly, helpful and they always go out of their way for you. But this wedding was extra special as Sarah & Alex had booked a rare evening wedding starting at 7.30pm when the doors were closed to the public, so they had the place all to themselves!

Getting ready at the Grand Hotel

Sarah’s preparation with her feisty and funny bridesmaids started a stone’s throw away at the Grand Hotel with fab views of the iconic Brighton seafront from her balcony, and after a short taxi ride, Sarah made her entrance in a beautiful, elegantly simply dress. The touching ceremony in the Red Drawing Room was followed by a fabulous evening in the Pavilion’s Tea Rooms and balcony upstairs where the guests were just warming up for the first of 3-nights of wedding celebrations which were continuing in France the day after.

Red Shoes & Polka Dots

Their fabulous wedding featured bridesmaids in purple, gorgeous scented summer bouquets, Sarah’s fabulous red wedding shoes, Alex’s blue & white polka dot socks, so many beautiful cakes, hand-made bunting, copious amounts of Pimms & champagne, worm dancing and the most fabulous 5-piece band playing on the lawns below. Oh and a foxy friend made an appearance!

It all added up to a very laid back and relaxed evening with little formality except the cutting of some wedding cake. Well, some traditions just stick don’t they. As ever, I’ll let the images speak for themselves. Want relaxed stylish wedding photography at your Brighton wedding? Get in touch, I’d love to hear your plans.

If you’re getting married at the fabulous Grand Hotel, why not take a look at Sarah & Hugo’s summer, and Hannah & Jake’s Autumn weddings.

Sarah & Alex – thank you for choosing me to cover your UK wedding celebrations – it was a real pleasure xx
