NORTH CADBURY COURT Wedding

CAMILLE & ADAM’S MIDSUMMER WEDDING AT NORTH CADBURY COURT Somerset

North Cadbury Court in Yeovil, is a Grade 1 listed country house built in the 1500’s. It’s a huge house in stunning grounds and perfect for big weddings. Camille & Adam had 200 guests at their midsummer wedding. It has huge reception spaces and ample accommodation for guests.

Camille & Adam were looking for a unique style of photography to capture the excitement and vibrancy of their day. Not fans of stylised or traditional photography, they chose me as I love to shoot in a candid, observational way capturing the real essence and feel of the day.

Midsummer Somerset Wedding with luscious exotic flowers and disco balls!

Let me say from the outset, I have never seen so many luscious, exotic, colourful flowers and decor as I did as this amazing wedding. North Cadbury Court is a huge venue, but it was a perfect host for this colourful, vibrant, larger than life couple and their wedding. Far away from their east London base, Camille & Adam wanted a countryside venue, big enough to host all their friends and family, but with charm, history and character. I stayed locally too and as you’ll see from the gallery, my second photographer and I started the day with their preparation at different ends of the house. The house is a maze and those views from the roof where the guys had their lunch was incredible. Camille was an absolute queen! Such a strong vibrant woman with fabulous taste! I had a ball getting to know her and her gals. She was elegance personified.

You can never have enough confetti!

Camille & Adam really didn’t want anything traditional for their wedding day. They described it as colourful, happy and together and that’s exactly what it was. Like most of my couples, they value good photography and wanted to capture the feel and heart of their celebrations. So my style suited them perfectly. I’m also booked by couples who love lots of colour. Some photographers fade or filter their photos, whereas I love a colour pop and keep them as real as possible. And all those incredible exotic colourful flowers looked amazing against the bridesmaids sparkling azure dresses. Camille in her impossible Valentino’s arrived at St Michael’s Church, part of the North Cadbury estate and after a very happy service, they were married! No, you can never have enough confetti. Period. They had a great line up and handfuls were chucked at them, after which they led all their guests on a short walk through to the garden terrace for fizz.

MY HIGHLIGHTS

Here’s a selection of my favourite images from Camille & Adam’s wedding at North Cadbury Court

Hot midsummer sunshine. Fizz and games. Couples Photos.

There was a jazz band with sultry summer vibes playing as everyone arrived at the back of the house for drinks. I love weddings packed out with guests, there’s so much going on. Little cliques of friends and family. Those who’d flown in were centre stage. Loud, colourful, great mix of characters. Add in fizz, great music, lush food and you’re away. I totally got their vibe. Everything flowed as Camille & Adam made their way around their guests hugging and just delighted to be there with them all. Their wedding had been postponed three times because of covid (I know, I’m very late with blogging this fabulous day) so it was a real joy seeing them all together at last. They wanted to maximise the time with their guests, so we had a quick walk around with champagne and captured a few gorgeous moments, including a shot with their disco balls! Totally them!

Marquee Dinner, speeches and toasts. Dancing till late. Final Thoughts.

Dinner was called and their guests welcomed Camille & Adam into the marquee, that was beautifully laid out. Rousing speeches including Adam’s and the story of how he tried and tried to woo Camille.I’ve heard a lot of speeches over the 14 years or so I’ve been a photographer and this one was one of the best! It was quite a military operation serving and clearing such a huge wedding party, but it was all organised so well. Everything about this wedding was lush. At the heart of most weddings, is what the couple want their wedding to feel like. They want their guests to really enjoy the day so their focus is on their experience. Weddings out of London or Sussex turn into little trips away for me, and when they’re this good, I feel such a connection to the couple and their guests. This was a good one. A really good one!

Here’s what C&A had to say afterwards… “We chose Mona as we wanted someone who could capture the colour and the fun of our wedding and she didn’t disappoint! From the first meeting to receiving the final images, Mona completely ‘got’ us and what we were looking for from our photos. We didn’t want too many posed pictures on the day as wanted to maximise the time we had with our friends and family, and Mona’s clear, efficient and easy direction meant that we have a lot of INCREDIBLE snaps that capture the joy, the emotion and the energy of the exact moment each one was taken. Everyone who has looked through the photos has been blown away by them. Those who were able to be at the wedding have said they can remember the exact moment the photo ‘mid dance move’ was taken (even though they didn’t see the camera) and those who weren’t able to be there felt like they were. Thank you so much Mona for capturing the essence of such a brilliant day!” If you’re looking for a relaxed, discreet documentary wedding photographer for your North Cadbury Court wedding, please get in touch I’d love to chat. Thank you C&A – I LOVED every minute of your day. Big love to you both.
